Such a beautiful letter with SO much goodness and inspiration, Kelly! 💗🙏🏻 Love your hospitality story about the true hospitality of opening our homes with signs of life in view (in all its fullness, in the form of abandoned bras, laundry piles ... and oh you made me smile about the karate-chopped pillows!! 😂).

As for the hymns, James K A Smith writes compellingly about this in his book You are what you love - I must dig out a quote I highlighted, am mid-through!

There’s so much I will come back to here! 🙏🏻🫶

Wow, Jenni, thank you for this sweet and thoughtful comment. I look forward to looking up this book and author and what he has to say about hymns. Thank you for the recommendation. I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to read this newsletter in its entirety. I’m trying to figure this out as I go and learning that I need my longer posts to be separate. Haha. Thankful for you!

Absolutely, loved all of it – and as time goes on, I think we’re all finding there are so many different ways to use the Substack format - in length, variety of content and so on - and each newsletter/publications/whatever we are calling them ( 🤷‍♀️!!) has their unique format and style. The number of drafts (x 1000 😂) I end up splitting, blending, then wondering if they should’ve been separate, or if they are substantial enough ... We’re all learning as we go—another reason why it feels so fresh and exciting here, in a way! So much more to say, but I’m dictating into my tiny phone 🤪, going on not enough caffeine yet – but truly love what are you doing here, Kelly! 🙌🫶
